Special Care Dentistry
Bright Side Dental dentists and staff believe it is important to spend extra time with patients with special needs; building relationships that are built on sensitivity, trust and friendship. We start with creating a calm, welcoming environment that caters to all dental and orthodontic needs.
Our dentists and staff work with special needs children starting at 12 years of age for children who have Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism or other physical or developmental circumstances and adults who may not be aware of the need for dental hygiene such as Alzheimer's, Dementia or Parkinson’s.
Working with patients with special needs requires our staff to have increased awareness and attention during all dental procedures.
We understand the importance for children or adults with special needs to remain still without sudden movements during treatment.
Bright Side Dental offers different sedation options that can be helpful to our special needs patients if needed.
One of the more popular options is IV Sedation dentistry or also called “sleep dentistry”. Our nurse anesthetist specializes in dental office sedation and has over 20 years experience practicing and 10 years working with special needs patients.
If you have any questions regarding treatment or prevention, please call 1-800-Painless or contact us for more information.
