Dr. Abraham Gershonowicz D.D.S.

Dr. Abraham Gershonowicz has been practicing dentistry for over 30 years. He received his undergraduate degree from Wayne State University and earned his dental degree from the University of Michigan Dental School.

Dr. Gershonowicz genuinely enjoys working with people, and is committed to patient satisfaction. He takes the time to truly understand each patient's concerns and work with them to produce the best possible results.

Dr. Gershonowicz is most proud of his staff and Doctors, "I have a truly professional group that I have the utmost respect for. We all get along very well, and of all things that is most important." Dr. Gershonowicz lives in West Bloomfield with his wife of 30 years, and has three grown children.

Dr. James Neme D.D.S.

Dr. James Neme has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years. He earned his dental degree from the University Of Michigan School Of Dentistry. Dr. Neme is dedicated to providing his patients with the individual care and patience that each person is searching for and deserves.

Dr. Neme's commitment to continuing education in delivering the most up-to-date and advanced dentistry, keeps him intellectually sharp and highly competent in the field of dentistry. He uses his talents and renowned desire to care for people in both his professional and family life.

Many patients enjoy Dr. Neme's temperament and his ability to problem solve and stay cool under pressure. Dr. Neme and his wife of sixteen years live in Clarkston, and take pride in raising their six joyful, enthusiastic and highly motivated children.

Dr. Derek Grytzelius D.D.S.

Dr. Derek Grytzelius has been a member of the Bright Side dental team for nearly 10 years. He graduated from Dakota High School in Macomb and he received his Bachelor's In Science degree as well as his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Detroit Mercy. He was recently married and enjoys playing roller hockey, camping, and fishing.

Dr. Kamini Kapoor D.D.S., M.S.

Dr. Kapoor has 16 years of experience in periodontal surgery. She graduated from Columbia University's School of Dental and Oral Surgery in 1986. She then went on to do a one-year hospital residency at the Ann Arbor, V.A. in Michigan. Upon completion of her residency she did a three-year Periodontal Surgical Internship at Ohio State University. Since her post-doctoral graduation in 1990, she has continued to take advanced courses to keep up with current trends and procedures in the field of Periodontics. Dr. Kapoor is a board eligible periodontist and travels here to Michigan from California to perform all of our periodontal surgery. Dr. Kapoor is a licensed dentist in the state of Michigan.

Dr. Greg Young D.D.S.

Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/ Implant Dentistry

Dr. Young earned his DDS degree from the University of Detroit, in 1979. He started his implant training in 1985, at the world renowned Misch Implant Institute. Since then he has taken hundreds of hours of education with some of the best implant clinicians in the world.

Dr. Young has gone on to distinguish himself as a leading expert in implant dental care. He was recognized, at the American Academy of Implant Dentistry's 2006 Annual Meeting, as an Associate Fellow of the Academy. At this time he is one of 407 dentists that hold this distinguished membership. He was also selected to be a mentor to other doctors seeking fellowship certification.

Additionally, in May of 2007, Dr. Young obtained his board certification from the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry. This is a very sought after certification that currently only 180 dentists world-wide have. It involves extensive post-doctoral training and years of experience, as well as, a comprehensive written exam and a series of oral exams conducted by an expert panel of implant dentists.

Dr. Young has also received special certification in Intravenous Conscious Sedation from Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton under the guidance of Dr. Daniel Becker. Each year he attends the annual conference on Implant Dentistry, sponsored by the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He is committed to staying current on all new technologies and procedures. Dr. Young currently limits his practice to Implant Dentistry and all related surgical procedures.

Dr. Young and his wife, Sandy, have been married for 35 years and have two beautiful daughters. In his spare time Dr. Young enjoys golfing, skiing and weight lifting.

Dr. Ahmed El-Mahrouky D.D.S.

Dr. El-Mahrouky has received his Dental degree from Tanta, Egypt in 1989. He moved to the United States in 1997 where he earned his Master's Degree in Oral Science and also completed 3 years of clinical training in the oral surgery department. Dr. El-Mahrouky is a licensed Dentist in the State of Michigan.

Dr. David J. Torby, D.D.S., M.S.

Dr. David J. Torby received his undergraduate education, DDS degree and Master of Science degree in Orthodontics from the University of Michigan. While at the university, Dr. Torby was the recipient of numerous academic awards and honors. Since 1976, he has specialized exclusively in the private practice of orthodontics in the Detroit metropolitan area.

Dr. Torby has been married for 32 years, and he and his wife have two daughters, ages 20 and 12. He is a life-long resident of Michigan and even was the champion of the 1963 Detroit News Metropolitan Spelling Bee, going on to participate in the National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C. Among his other interests are classic cars, stamp collecting and spoiling his family's two cats. Dr. Torby looks forward to working with you to help you achieve optimal dental health and a happy smile!

Dr. Mark Jacobs

Dr. Mark Jacobs has been in practice since graduating in 2003 from the University of Detroit Mercy Dental School. A native Canadian, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto. Since graduating, Dr. Jacobs has stayed current on new developments in dentistry by taking continuing education courses, and enjoys passing that knowledge onto the patients he treats. Dr. Jacobs has moved to Michigan since graduating, and was recently engaged to be married in the upcoming year. He enjoys working out, running, and playing and watching sports in his leisure, especially baseball.

Dr. Jennifer Holtzman

Dr. Jennifer Holtzman has been in practice since 2005. She went to Wayne State University for her undergraduate studies and then to University of Michigan for her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. She later completed her fellowship in Oral Surgery from the University of Iowa. Dr. Holtzman is married, and resides in West Bloomfield with her husband Matt. She is expecting a baby this summer and she enjoys traveling, watching movies, and playing video games in her free time.
